Book " Little Women "
Presented by Marian
It is the story
based on the author's experience when she lived her childhood with her sisters,
Jo, Meg, Beth and Amy, who lived in Massachusetts in the First World War. While
their father is at war, these four women live in constant evolution and
learning within the historical context of the time. The story focuses on these
four little women and their way of life.
In my opinion
I would like to watch the movie instead of reading the book.

Book “The Wizard of Harry Potter”
Presented by Ana Silvia
Summary
Harry Potter is the most miserable,
lonely boy you can imagine. He’s shunned by his relatives, the Dursley’s, that
have raised him since he was an infant. He’s forced to live in the cupboard
under the stairs, forced to wear his cousin Dudley’s hand-me-down clothes, and
forced to go to his neighbour’s house when the rest of the family is doing
something fun. Yes, he’s just about as miserable as you can get.
Harry’s world gets turned upside down on
his 11th birthday, however. A giant, Hagrid, informs Harry that he’s really a
wizard, and will soon be attending Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry.
Harry also learns that, in the wizarding world, he’s a hero. When he was an
infant, the evil Lord Voldemort killed his parents and then tried to kill Harry
too. What’s so amazing to everyone is that Harry survived, and allegedly
destroyed Voldemort in the process.
When Harry hears all this, he doesn’t
know what to think. However, everything Hagrid tells him turns out to be true,
and with a joyful heart Harry starts wizarding school in September. He quickly
becomes best friends with a boy named Ron Weasley, and before they even make it
to Christmas, they break tons of school rules when they attack a troll and
prevent it from killing fellow student Hermione Granger. After the troll
incident, the three become inseparable, and Harry is amazed to have found such
great friends. He is constantly busy trying to stay on top of the mounds of
homework, as well as participating in weekly Quidditch practices. Quidditch is
a popular sport among wizards and Harry is the youngest Quidditch player in
over a century. It's also a game Harry loves more than anything else at school.
As the year progresses, the three
friends set out to solve the mystery of the gigantic three-headed dog that is
guarding something in a deserted corridor in the school. They figure out that a
very valuable object, the Sorcerer’s Stone, is being hidden in the school,
although they don’t know why. When one of the professors starts acting as if
he’s trying to steal it, they quickly take action to circumvent the theft.
Things come to a head when they sneak
past the vicious, three-headed dog and go down into the bowels of the school,
determined to save the stone. Ron and Hermione help Harry get through the
challenges set forth to stop the thief, but Harry must go on alone to battle
the professor. When he finally gets to the last room, however, he’s astonished
to find someone else entirely.
Harry is forced to do battle with the
wizard that tried to kill him so many years before, Lord Voldemort. He’s able
to save the Sorcerer’s Stone, although he’s almost killed in process. The
school headmaster, Dumbledore, arrives just in time to save Harry.
The school year ends spectacularly.
Harry, Ron, and Hermione are honored for their service to the school, and Harry
leaves to go back to the Dursley’s for the summer feeling as if he’s finally
found a place where he really belongs.

Book “The Wuthering Heights”
Presented by Mayra
Many people, generally those who have
never read the book, consider Wuthering Heights to be a
straightforward, if intense, love story — Romeo and Juliet on
the Yorkshire Moors. But this is a mistake. Really the story is one of revenge.
It follows the life of Heathcliff, a mysterious gypsy-like person, from
childhood (about seven years old) to his death in his late thirties. Heathcliff
rises in his adopted family and then is reduced to the status of a servant,
running away when the young woman he loves decides to marry another. He returns
later, rich and educated, and sets about gaining his revenge on the two
families that he believed ruined his life.

“I AM Malala book”
Presented BY Evelyn
Summary
This
book starts with the story of Malala´s father and how the grandfather of her
influences her father to be an eloquent man.
Then about Malala Yousafzai was born in the town of Mingora, Pakistan to
a poor but prominent Muslim family, headed by Ziauddin Yousafzai. Growing up,
Ziauddin encouraged Malala to study literature and rhetoric, and to express
herself freely. From an early age, Malala was conscious of the inferior
position of women in her society: she was especially conscious of the
difference between her mother, Tor Pekai, a woman with no formal education, and
her father, a man with considerable training in writing, poetry, and oration.
At the age of 11, Malala began writing a diary for a BBC blog, thanks to
contacts her father had established. She also made an appearance in a New York Times documentary on life in Pakistan
under the Taliban. Following these two projects, Malala became increasingly
active in the media, in spite of her young age. She gave interviews in which
she criticized the rise of the violent religious extremist group, the Taliban,
in her country. In the fall of 2012, Malala was shot by a Taliban soldier. She
was treated in Pakistani military hospitals, and afterwards, thanks to her
international fame, taken to superior medical facilities in Birmingham,
England. Malala made a full recovery from her bullet wounds, and continued to
actively campaign for women’s rights and education. In 2014, she became the
youngest recipient of the Nobel Peace Prize in its 114-year history.
This experience gave me more than an opinion I went
more in the path of the knowledge of Muslims and this enricher culture and try
to rescue the goods no the bads.
Actually, I admire Malala with this courage and realize that the support
of a Family is very important to accomplish and get to the goals.
This is the book I presented, so in my opinion I
really appreciate it. Because I have learned a lot about this culture. I could never imagine how much I learned with
this book.
All crimes against the women and human rights made in Afghanistan
, I hope some day could stop.
“TO THE LIGHTHOUSE”
Presented By. Lesly.
The
Lighthouse is a
1927 novel by Virginia Woolf. The novel is about on the Ramsays and their visits
to the Isle of Skye in Scotland between 1910 and 1920.
Following and extending the
tradition of modernist novelists. The novel recalls childhood emotions and highlights
adult relationships. Among the book's many tropes and themes are those of loss, subjectivity, the
nature of art and the problem of perception.
To the Lighthouse takes on some elements of Woolf’s own life: she felt stifled by
her father in much the same way that Mr. Ramsay squeezes the life out of his
children. And the sudden deaths of her mother and her sister Stella left her in
deep mourning (echoes of Mrs. Ramsay and Prue’s deaths in To the
Lighthouse).
But, Woolf herself got fed up with critics who
insisted on reading the Ramsays as direct representations of the Stephens
(Stephen was Woolf’s maiden name). To the Lighthouse is also
an extended meditation on the relationship between art and life, and on late
Victorian family structures. (Source: Mark Massey, “Introduction,” To the
Lighthouse. Orlando, Florida: Harcourt Books, 2005, xlviii.)

“ROSE IN BLOOM”
Presented BY

By Louisa May Alcott
In Rose in Bloom (1876), Rose now
twenty, comes out into society and must navigate its risks while choosing
between several suitors, including two of her cousins. It’s important to
mention that this is the sequel to Eight Cousins.
Rose insists that she will manage her own fortune
rather than find a husband to do it for her. Further advancing Alcott’s
passionate advocacy of women’s rights.
Three young men stood together on a wharf one bright
October day, "They are the Campbell's, waiting for their cousin,
who has been abroad several years
with her uncle, the Doctor“.
When Rose gives a chance to Charlie and they tried to
have a romance, but he didn’t give up
with his drinking bad habit, even though Rose try to help him in different
ways. He dies because of it in an accident.
“Rose is finally ready to bloom into a good, strong,
sweet and true woman”.
The Author :
Louisa May Alcott
She was
born on 1832 in Pennsylvania, USA. Her parents were Amos Bronson Alcott
(teacher and philosopher) and Abby May (social worker).
She was
educated mainly by her father and by various other educators including Henry
David Thoreau, Ralph Waldo Emerson, Nathaniel Hawthorne, and Margaret Fuller,
they were her father friends.
In my
opinion All that is related with woman´s right I would like to know, because
spite of all the modernism, and the human rights existed right now, I can
understand that we are behind the reality, we are lost in space sometimes. We must know our rights to advocate them
and put in practice everywhere.

Point of
view. It is written in 3rd. person,

Protagonist:

Antagonist: Maybe we can see as an antagonist,
Charles C. Campbell (Charlie) because of his behavior, another antagonist for
me is Charlie’s mother because she let her son down the wrong path.

against money”, and the high society way of living.

Literary
movement, Post modernism
In my
opinion. I found this presentation interesting, because I didn´t know the name
of the person in charge to make all this movements of the new age. Luminati, I have heard about it, because of
my kids, they told me that this lumniti has the belief against what Catholic
Church have taught us. They already
know what is right or what is wrong, so with a mature belief they now can
choose or decide all about his new age fashion belief. I understand that a psychologist can play
with the human minds too.
It was interesting. I would like to read and watch the movies too
in spite of I have my strong beliefs, it would be just to know what this people
try to convince us.
